Welcome to the Center for Computational Materials Science
As the Director, it is my privilege to lead this distinguished and pioneering research center in Pakistan. Our center is committed to advancing the boundaries of materials discovery, with applications in science, technology, and innovation through cutting-edge computational techniques. Our mission is to cultivate a collaborative environment where groundbreaking research, quality education, and transformative innovation thrive. At CCMS, we are devoted to addressing some of the most pressing challenges in materials science by leveraging high-performance computing and advanced simulation techniques. Our dedicated team of researchers, students, and faculty members works tirelessly to discover new materials and technologies that have the potential to revolutionize industries, drive economic growth, enhance national security, and uplift the quality of life for our society.
One of our most significant milestones is the development of Pakistan’s fastest supercomputer, which has greatly expanded our research capabilities. We owe a deep debt of gratitude to Mr. Asif Usman for his unwavering dedication and tireless efforts in establishing this high-performance computing system. We also extend our sincere thanks to the Higher Education Commission (HEC) for its invaluable funding and to former Vice Chancellors, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rasul Jan and Prof. Dr. Johar Ali, as well as the current Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Rashid Ahmad, for their steadfast support in the establishment, growth, and smooth functioning of CCMS.
As a leading research center, CCMS plays a crucial role in promoting awareness of emerging fields in science and technology, particularly quantum sciences, which are reshaping the global landscape. The center is actively advancing expertise in quantum computing, quantum cryptography, and high-performance computing. Our efforts are aimed not only at driving innovation but also at preparing a skilled workforce ready to lead in the era of quantum transformation.
